Here are some quotes from the article.

“Seeing another gamer on the street used to be an auto-smile opportunity, or an entry into a conversation starting with, ‘Hey, dude! I love that game too!’ the Supernatural actress wrote on her Tumblr. But for the first time maybe in my life, on that Saturday afternoon, I walked towards that pair of gamers and I didn’t smile. I didn’t say hello. In fact, I crossed the street so I wouldn’t walk by them. A small voice of doubt in my brain now suspected that those guys and I might not be comrades after all. That they might not greet me with reflected friendliness, but contempt.”

“I have been terrified of inviting a deluge of abusive and condescending tweets into my timeline. I did one simple @ reply to one of the main victims several weeks back, and got a flood of things I simply couldn’t stand to read directed at me. I had to log offline for a few days until it went away. I have tried to re-tweet a few of the articles I’ve seen dissecting the issue in support, but personally I am terrified to be doxxed (having personal information such as an address, email or real name released online) for even typing the words ‘Gamer Gate.’”

Now for the “5 Best Ways to Get Yourself Ignored Online

Implement these into your business and see how it works.

Don’t have a business CLICK HERE.

#5 Contacting a possible client hoping they will figure out what to do with you

Not getting to know the other person and taking a change that they will be stunned by your brilliance. Come now: Do your homework. Contact people who need you, not by expecting them to know what you had in mind when contacting them. The best bet is to not waste people’s time.

#4 Adopting a “Here I Am!!! Attitude when contacting clients or businesses.

Is your style a bit too self-centered? How do you feel when the person you are talking to only talks about him/herself? People are much happier for “being remembered”, not because they had the chance to listen to you tell your stories? Try this: start the email off with a compliment about something you saw them do, or “There you are!! Make the other person feel special.

#3 Writing toxic messages to people via email or social media

Don’t blame Facebook for letting people express themselves any way they want, and don’t blame email for sending things that will knock you off your seat? These will get ignored because Misery breeds company, but it’s the type of company that is always fleeting or festering.   Taking actions with a negative mindset leads to negative results.

Online toxicity, to date, has solved no problem for anyone and did more to shed light on those who may have self-destructed for even a moment. We are all human beings and have real emotions, even movie stars. Focus on good points, get loving and happy quotes, Reread your messages and make sure they have a positive feeling afterwards.

#2 Speaking online before one should have spoken

A secret about working online is that 78% of what you read should not be trusted, but it has to be written anyway for the purposes of promoting a business. Real education comes from things we do offline in the real world. Find it online in “how to” blogs and YouTube videos, and then take it offline to learn the true lesson.

This gets ignored because if all the information you possess has been acquired online, you are less likely to be listened to because it seems you only know what people tell you. When you speak it becomes obvious that you only read what others think and adopted that as your opinion. They can find the same content.

To get around this by being original! Be yourself and turn your knowledge into something of your own.

#1 Expecting something for nothing from complete strangers

Google can be blamed for this. They have created a business that makes millions of dollars, yet still appears to be free to the common user (even though it is technically not). FREE!! We all like that.

This gets ignored the most because there is a difference between ‘pitching an idea’ and ‘asking for something free’.

The old saying “you get what you pay for!”   Even online that saying is true.   If you truly want something you technically have to pay for it.

I have found that if you want success you need to: Work your tail off, even when you get the pressure to quit.
