When I launched my business I thought yeah I can do this. It looks great, I am going to make my fortune. Then the unknown came, the wonders of “What am I doing?” Well then the determination comes. I was are going to make this work or else.
I will tell you I had the wrong focus, the wrong motivation, the wrong angle.
Then something changed.
I had the pleasure of attending the conference.
Why did I go? What did I find when I was there?
With a crowd of thousands, you wouldn’t think that one person can make a difference, but you have not been to an Empower Network conference before. I have been to a lot of business conferences and meetings in my life, but nothing like this.
They didn’t talk to me, they didn’t tell me what to do; in turn they talked to my heart and consumed my soul. They consume you and made you feel like you are on top of the world, they motivate you to reach deep down inside and find what it is about each individual. That is who you really are. They taught about how to change what you do not like and create more on what you do.
Learn how to tell you story with conviction. What makes you decide “what’s important”?
One of the first leaders I had the pleasure to talk to individually asked me why I was there. I said I came to figure out what I was doing wrong, because it wasn’t working the way they all said it would. Do you want to know what he said? It was just four words. What is your “WHY?” At that time I really didn’t understand what he truly meant. He also said that if you keep going and really listen one day it will appear right before you.
For the next couple of days I listened intently to each speaker and mingled with others in the crowd. We come from all walks of life, we come from all age groups, and we come from all over the world. You know what? Come to find out WE all fit in this group. That is how special this company is!
We are here to make money, but not the way most people think about how to make money.
I came home from this conference uplifted and ready to tackle anything. But, how to keep this feeling and then get on the correct focus can slip away when you get back to ordinary life. You try but are you still not getting it to work? You have thoughts of quitting and thinking you just shouldn’t do it.
That is another great thing about my company. We have Monday night calls to help, we have webinars to share and motivate. If you slip and fall there is always someone to help. It’s your own fault if you do not reach out.
The reason WHY I am sharing this now is that I had a light bulb turned on last night on our call. They were telling stories of inspiration and a little meditation. I had to listen while I was doing about three other things. You know what happened.
I heard something that made me stop.
I stopped and started writing down what they were saying. “Today is the Day My Transformation Begins” My writing and my blogs need to have my why, they need to have my purpose, they need to help motivate others and myself toward my goals.
I need to change how I look at the things that drag me down, the things that seem to get in the way. Are they obstacles, hurdles, or are they part of what I am living for?
Do you have things that interrupt you? Dog, kids, dinner (I don’t like to cook unless I have all day)
Do you get frustrated because you are right in the middle of your blog, or just got that splash page to work and now you wanted to test it. What do you do?
When your reason “WHY” is strong enough and your goals are ingrained in your brain then the little interruptions should not make that much of a difference. Don’t grumble, take that short break. It’s probably good to step away and come back to see what you missed or reread it anyway.
I came across a video yesterday that challenged me and I wanted to pass it on to you. It talked about the best advice a friend could give. I wanted to share it and ask you to do the same. It just could be the key to your success too.
