Being a Mom is the Best thing in the World!

I seem to be the go to person, the ask mom she know person. Mom always seems to have the answers and can fix anything.

As my kids were growing up I always had a system and I always seemed to be the catch all and make sure things are done sort of mom. That was just the way it was and I wanted the best for them.

Now that they are adults, they still come to mom for just about anything. Some time I do wonder why, but I answer and help them anyway. That is my job!

Challenges for a mother.

Thinking back on all the challenges that my kids have put me through I do not think I would change a thing. I might not have liked them, but that just came with the territory.

I found some fun quotes for all the other mothers out there. And Dad’s too, nowadays they seem to be helping in that role.

  1. Because I feel that in the heavens above
The angels, whispering one to another,
Can find among their burning tears of love,
None so devotional as that of Mother,
Therefore, by that dear name I have long called you,
You who are more than mother unto me.

    Edgar Allan Poe
  2. A daughter is a mother’s gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of her self. And mothers are their daughters’ role model, their biological and emotional road map, the arbiter of all their relationships.

    Victoria Secunda

My Daughter is now my best friend. Come and see how she put fun in my life.

  3. Mother is a name held sacred
    By most mortals of the earth;
It means great love and sacrifice
From the very day of birth,
A love that’s so full of beauty,
    So tender, so very true!
    Something, seemingly, from Heaven
That has come to me and you.
    There’s no love so understanding
And so faithful to the end
    As a Mother’s love—God bless her!—
That to us our Lord did send.

    Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, “Mother” (1940s)
  4. Being a mother means that your heart is no longer yours; it wanders wherever your children do.

    Author Unknown
I think we all could be authors of this one. We are always wondering what are children are doing. Its in our sub conscience being.
  5. Any mother could perform the jobs of several air traffic controllers with ease

    Lisa Alther
I saved this one for last. I know that if you are anything like me. How many jobs and situations can you control at once.

Please leave me a comment and tell me about your experiences.

I never thought that I could blog about my experiences and make money from it. It is such a wonderful accomplishment for me and to be able to have more freedom with my Children.

  1. Oh yes, moms are special people! As are fathers but their role is different in most families.

Mom are definitely the ‘go-tos’ in most families and they generally are the anchors for them as well.

Thank you for sharing and thank you for being a mom!

  2. I just got back from visiting my middle daughter, my oldest a week ago, and my youngest will be home to visit in a couple of weeks- my heart is spread all over!

    1. Three daughters That is a lot of girls in one household. I was blessed with one daughter and one son. Both different from the day they were born.

  3. Not all mothers take their responsability. But they become roll models. We foster a girl of 3 years and the daughters really give amazing love to her. My wife is a amazing mother for all the children, although I’m doing the housekeeping. I’m the stay at home dad. But there is still a difference like your 5th quote. Great post Sandy ! thanks for sharing. Johan

    1. Johan, Good for you in doing the housekeeping. I was glad I taught my son how to clean and do laundry, it really helped him out when he was a resident at the fire station and that was how he paid is room and board.

  4. Relationships are often different to the one girls share with their fathers and they both, for me, have equal importance in my life. My parents have been my role models for sure.

a great deal of work? I’ve absolutely no understanding of programming however I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyhow,

    Kudos!

  7. Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having
a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs
